Having over fourteen years experience in Healing Touch and twenty-two years in Information Management with IBM, Arlene Mauney transitioned into the healthcare industry in 2006 as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) where she managed employees in a Medical Information Services department at a nephrology clinic. In 2008, Arlene became a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner and completed a program of study in ear acupuncture through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. She is an active Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. In 2009, she became a Healing Touch Instructor.
Arlene is an advocate for complementary and integrative therapies and is on a mission to improve the health of our communities by providing caring holistic healthcare services and teaching others what she knows about these modalities.
The heart-centeredness of Healing Touch has led Arlene to establish her own practice and use this therapy in every aspect of her life. "Healing Touch is such a wonderful tool to have in your toolbox because it promotes self-healing". As an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS), Arlene administers ear acupuncture and acupressure to assist in managing pain, stress, and detoxify several body systems. Her skills as a RHIT allow her to supervise medical records departments and manage patient health information safely and securely.
Arlene is a member of the American Health Information Management Association, the Healing Touch Professional Association, the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, and the local community Domestic Violence Speakers Bureau. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Charlotte based Holistic Health Network from 2004 – 2008 and is currently on the Advisory Board of New Beginnings, an organization that comes to the aid of displaced homemakers.
Arlene has one son, Travis, daughter-in-law Juanita, and grandchildren Raquan, Jaquan, Tyler, and Aliyah.
