What is Healing Touch?
Healing Touch Healing Touch (HT) is a series of energy-based therapy classes in which students use a variety of hands-on techniques that facilitate energy balance for wholeness within the individual, supporting physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Healing Touch is a complimentary (or integrative) energy therapy that can be used in conjunction with traditional therapies. The goal of Healing Touch is to restore harmony and balance in the human energy system by creating an optimal environment to enable the body's innate tendency for healing to occur.

Healing Touch History
The Healing Touch Program has been taught since 1989 to more than 100,000 participants worldwide. The program (originally known as Colorado Center for Healing Touch) was developed by Janet Mentgen, BSN, RN, HNC, CHTP/I, as a medically-based energy therapy training program for nurses. Over the last 19 years Healing Touch has been effective in demonstrating a positive impact in the health care community. Healing Touch is widely respected and increasingly accepted, not only in the United States, but in many countries around the globe. It is considered one of the leading energy medicine programs in the world.

Meaning of the HTCP Pin
The meaning of the HTCP (Healing Touch Certified Practitioner) Pin that is given as a gift to those that become Healing Touch Certified Practitioners is symbolic for its shape and color. The round shape represents Unity and Community. The color white represents Purity of Purpose, the Blue represents Clear Communication from the Higher Realms and the Gold works to Stimulate Balance and Healing. It was developed by Janet Mentgen and staff to recognize the work the Practitioner had done and to symbolize to the world that this person is a competent practitioner. It was established that the pin ONLY be given in ceremony and therefore it is not mailed to the individual but available only through the Certified Instructors. The recognition given by the Peers is as important as the pin itself.

Who can learn Healing Touch?
The Healing Touch Certification Program is oriented towards nurses and other health professionals, but it is open to all individuals desiring an in-depth understanding of healing work using energy based concepts. Our founder, Janet Mentgen, BSN, RN, HNC, CHTP/I, believed that anyone could learn how to facilitate healing in others.

Can I get CE credits for taking a Healing Touch Class?
Healing Touch provides accredited Continuing Education for nurses and massage therapists. Based on the nursing process, and supported by scientific research, it is rooted in the concepts of compassion, energy medicine, positive intention, touch, self empowerment, the mind-body-spirit triad, and the body's innate tendency toward healing.
