Keynotes

Five dynamic, knowledgeable and inspirational keynote speakers will offer insights and practical applications during the 2011 Healing Touch Worldwide Conference.

Transitioning from Experimental Data to Clinical Applications in Healing WorkScience and Research
William Bengston, Ph.D.

I have conducted 10 experiments on mice in five separate labs, including two medical schools. These experiments have demonstrated reliable cures on mice infected with cancers that are normally fatal. These cancer cures have been replicated using skeptical volunteers. Clinically, I have also applied the same healing techniques to selected individuals with positive results, and others that have been trained by me have done likewise. In addition I have researched some correlates to healing, including EEGs, fMRIs, and geomagnetic micropulsations.

This talk will summarize some of these data, and will also concern itself with some of the issues involved in transitioning from experimental to clinical work. That is, I will summarize “what I think I know” from the experimental data, and “what I still need to know” to open the door to clinical application. The latter involves questions of dose response and whether healing can indeed be taught. In addition, there are some methodological complications involving the “resonant bonding” of experimental and control group animals resulting in the possibility of type II errors in research that have not been sufficiently addressed.

William Bengsten William F. Bengston is a professor of sociology at St. Joseph's College in New York, and President of the Society for Scientific Exploration, an international group of scientists who investigate anomalies. His areas of specialization include research methods and statistics. For twenty years, Dr. Bengston has been doing research into anomalous healing and has numerous publications in the Journal of Scientific Exploration, the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, and Explore. In addition, he has lectured widely throughout the United States and Europe. His research has produced the first successful full cures of transplanted mammary cancer and methylcholanthrene induced sarcomas in experimental mice by laying-on-of-hands techniques that he helped to develop. He has also investigated assorted correlates to healing such as geomagnetic micropulsations and EEG harmonics and entrainment.

The Ceremony of HealingSpiritual Growth
Ann Marie Chiasson, MD, MPH, CCFP

The art of healing includes a component of ceremony and ritual. This aspect of healing has a potent effect and is of primary importance when clients go to see a healer of any type. Cultural examples will be explored as well as the components of sacred ceremony we can deepen to augment healing.

Dr. Chiasson will also offer a workshop on Friday afternoon titled, Healing the Healer - Simple Tools for Self Healing. For more information, click here.

Sound - The Healing BridgePractice BuildingPractice Building
Arden Wilken, BA (cum laude) in Music Theory University of Washington, Seattle 1972

We always carry with us the ability to create a bridge between our body, heart, mind and soul. Some are afraid to use it because it can bring us into contact with old pain or trauma. This silent part of us is our own voice. Learning the body’s innate posture, practicing letting our sound flow up from our roots creates an unstoppable force that will imbue every word said, song sung, and action made.

Arden Wilken Arden Wilken is an American musician, composer and sound therapist. She is co-founder of INNER SOUND (1978), an original system of sound therapy and therapeutic music for the expression and integration of the emotions. She received a bachelor's degree in music theory from the University of WA in 1972 and has a discography of 25 CDs, each having a specific theme or focus, in order to help the individual achieve their healing goals through unblocking the connective tissue through sound and music. She is also trained in body work. Arden and her husband Jack have founded schools of sound therapy in the USA, Spain, the UK, and the Netherlands and are now based in Seattle, WA after living many years abroad in the far East, North Africa and Europe.
