Caring Science/Heart Science: A Caritas Consciousness Cosmology for Touching and Transforming the heart, head and hands of practitioners.

This keynote is designed to awaken the human heart and soul within the context of Caritas Consciousness as a scientific, ethical and cosmological guide to HT. New dimensions of Caring Science/Heart Science offer an energetic spiritual-scientific ethic as basis for energetic Caring-Healing. This presentation draws upon the latest contemporary caring theories and research, integrated with heart-centered scientific worldviews and unitary practice models. 

Jean Watson, is known around the world for her caring theories, philosophies and practice models. She is author, co-author/editor of over 14 books on Caring Science.  Dr. Watson is a Distinguished Professor and holds an endowed Chair in Caring Science
at University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing. Her latest books: Caring Science as Sacred Science (2005, FA Davis), Nursing. The Philosophy and Science of Nursing (2008 University Press Colorado) and Assessing and Measuring Caring (2008, Springer) seek to translate and transcend postmodern thinking, restoring and integrating the heart and soul of caring, healing and Infinite Love as ethic and science for sustaining humanity and healing.  

In 2008 Watson Caring Science Institute was established as non-profit foundation to sustain caring and deepen knowledge and practices of Caring Science in the world. She is founder and director of this new institute, sponsoring the International Caritas Consortium.


Creating Right Relationships:
Ethics in Healing Touch Practice

This keynote will address the implications of ethical concepts to Healing Touch practice. Focus will be on the dilemmas unique to energy healing practices and the most effective ways to reduce personal and professional risks. As well as to enhance HT practitioners’ awareness of the many opportunities open to them in developing ethical and enlightened practices. Ethics is about the many ways we can bring our gifts to light in the practical everyday world. Risks and benefits of energy healing will be explored and specific practice questions answered.

Dorothea Hover-Kramer is well known to HTP because of her close work with Janet Mentgen in the early days of the program and her ongoing support of the HTP organization. As a psychologist and clinical nurse specialist, she expanded her practice to cofound the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology in 1999, to write its first code of ethics and to see it develop into an international organization with over a thousand members. She has authored 6 major books on energy therapies including the most recent, Second Chance at your Dream  filled with opportunities for the public to utilize energy concepts in the second half of life.

What Animals Teach Us About Healing

Participants will learn the differences between human and animal energy fields, and come to understand that we have instinctive energies that empower us in the area of physical, mental and spiritual healing. We will give examples of how animals have helped their human companions, and discuss animal welfare as a mirror for human suffering. The session will close with a specific meditation designed to aid participants in aligning with their true vibration.

Dr. Susan Wagner is a board certified veterinary neurologist whose pioneering work acknowledges the bioenergetic interaction between people and animals. She is an advocate for change in the area of interpersonal violence and animal cruelty, and works toward a greater understanding surrounding the health implications of the human-animal bond.
 
Residing in Worthington, Ohio, she is an active public speaker in the areas of the human-animal bond, energy theory and healing, and spirituality. She especially enjoys teaching about the spiritual nature of animals.  Dr. Wagner is published in several peer-reviewed journals. She is also co-author of Through A Dog’s Ear: Using Sound to Improve the Health and Behavior of Your Canine Companion, and was research director for the Through A Dog’s Ear CD series. Dr. Wagner is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University Veterinary College, and a Level IV Healing Touch for Animals practitioner.

Carol Komitor, CMT, HTCP/I, CHBMT, ESMT,HTACP
Carol Komitor, a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner/Instructor, has been teaching Healing Touch since 1991.  She holds certifications in Massage Therapy, Hospital-Based Massage, Healing Touch for Animals® and Equine Sports Massage.   Her energy medicine studies also include Reiki Mastership, Instructor Level for Inner Sound and a extensive knowledge in aromatherapy for both people and animals. 

Carol Komitor founded Komitor Healing Method, Inc. and Healing Touch for Animals® (KHM/HTA) in 1996. Her 13-year background as a veterinary technician and understanding of energy, through Healing Touch, inspired her to develop energy techniques for animals. The techniques taught in Healing Touch for Animals® were created and cultivated by Carol through study, practice and experiential knowledge. 

Working with world-class trainers, veterinarians, animal shelters and her private clients (human and animal), Carol formulated the curriculum for Healing Touch for Animals®. HTA is a multi-level program which leads to certification and offers a cooperative model bridging holistic animal healthcare with traditional veterinary medicine. Carol combines her passion for animals and her experience with energy healing to bring her life’s work—full-circle.

Energy healers and aromatherapists primarily get into this work because of a personal need for healing or a desire to help heal family, friends or pets. Often this develops into a desire to help humanity and/or animals. But how do you tell the world about the great services that you can provide? Traditional hard-sell marketing techniques are like a foreign language for most healers. What are the trade-secrets to promoting from one’s spiritual heart?

Linda Lee Smith is a successful entrepreneur in developing and administering continuing educational programming in energy healing and aromatherapy. She is the author of several books, ebooks, teleseminars and is a prolific writer of over 300 ezine articles on the internet. In her teaching career, she has taught well over 500 workshops nationally and internationally. As a past Holistic Nurse of the Year, she has a holistic healing practice in Arvada, Colorado teaching others the value of holistic practice. Linda is also a successful internet soft-sell marketer and teaches others how to present themselves from the heart so whether it is writing copy for web sites, brochures, flyers, business cards, healers do not have to compromise their spiritual values.
